Lisa from Jesus Drinks Soy and K from TWO-KG (me?!?! LOL) have been dying to try this pork knuckle after seeing it on ChocolateSuze's blog. We finally got the chance to do so yesterday and it didn't fail to disappoint. True that the pork knuckle didn't look as big as it did in chocolatesuze's pics but we wer still happy with what we got. The crackle was a bit hard for me, being used to the crunch yet bitable crackle on chinese roast porks and a tad too salty. But the inside was soooo good! Nice and tender with plenty to go around. The mash was also excellent, you could really taste all the creamy. buttery fatty goodness they'd put into it.

We really wanted more of the mash after sharing this massive thing but due to some form of miscommunication/bad service!??! We didn't end up getting any but by that stage we'd started feeling full. The service was really bad! When we went to pay the bill they just asked us what we had and charged us for whatever we said we had. But of course being truthful little kiddies we told them the truth! =P

Miso Japanese Restaurant, World Square

Ok so after a very unhealthy lunch of icecream today (see below) we opted to go to Miso for dinner. Miso is know for its "teishoku" style dishes which aims to create healthy and balanced meals.

Wagyu beef set

Miso Nabeyaki Udon

Teriyaki Chicken Set

Hokkaido Bentou

Ok I'm really supposed to be asleep at the moment so all I'm gonna say is everyone was happy with their meals.

It's been aaaages since I've had passionflower....I remember vaguely a time where I said I'd give up on icecream but that's now too long ago for me to remember whether that commitment is real or fake. It's around 12pm...just the right time for a suggary lunch of ICECREAM!

Apple crepes w/ vanilla icecream

Playmate

Iced green tea

C goes for the apple crepe. The vanilla icecream is of a good quality, not like the cheap cheap supermarket ones hehehe. I get the playmate, its got lychee and rosepetal icecream with lychee and coconut jellies w/ strawberry sauce. The tastes are very pleasant and somehow I associate it will all things girly..!?!? N isn't hungry and just can't help but roll her eyes at our piggish-ness of having icecream for lunch LOL She goes for the green tea which I sorta spill all over the table when I attempt to poke the whipped cream == tsktsktsk!! I tried a bit of that but couldn't taste anything coz my mouth was still full of the wonderful suggary-ness of my icecream.

WOOOHOOOO! I've finally finishedd exams! yaaaaay!! To celebrate the end of exams, C's b'day (belated), end of first yr, C going to Hong Kong tmr, C going to Japan after that and whatever else excuses that I could come up with we went to GUYLIAN TO BINGE ON CHOLOCATE! Yaaay!

Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake

100% Pure Pleasure

100% Pure Pleasure innards

Sugar and choc that comes with drinks

Choc~

After much deliberation and indecision we finally place our orders with the very nice staff working there. I order the cheesecake and C orders the pure pleasure. It's not long before the food arrives and we are slightly disappointed by the size of our desserts considering that they're quite costly ( more than $10 per dessert). This is forgiven immediately once we try our desserts. There's several squeals of childish delight for both desserts and it's not long before we're forked our way through half the dessert. The desserts are not overly sweet and after reaching mid-way I bravely say that we should order a third dessert and share it. This sadly doesn't happen as we're literally carrying our tummies out of the place after finishing the one. LOL

The bill comes to $34.50 for rwo desserts, a latte and a tea, quite expensive for a poor uni student but it's worth it coz the desserts are reaaaallly yummy!

Shu Shin Bou, Sydney (AGAIN)

Weeeeee this is the second post by K.G. Like FINALLY there's a joint update! LOL Not that G is doing much.. *hint*hint* GO EAT SOME FOOD G! So I (K) go to the city and buy this boz of goodies, take it back to stratty and not long after I get home G starts banging widly on my door, demanding to be let in LOL

We open the box and immediately the nice scent of sugary goodness wafts into the air.

Chocolate and green tea mochi truffles

Chestnut daifuku

Black Sesame daifuku

SAdly due to the fact that G got here so fast, there was no time to refridgerate these and they were in a very dismal state after cutting them open. They didnt taste as good with the mousse being room temperature either. But the chestnut daifuku was still a winner for me although G didn't seem to be very fond of the mousse, leaving a big chunk untouched.

I have to say I loooooove truffles! The mochi truffles were a good idea and they tasted quite nice after I'd placed then in the fridge for a while...I like the chocolate one better. The green tea mochi on the outside of the green tea mochi truffle tasted like those cheap imitation mochis you can get but I suppose some people would still like it. The inside of truffle-y goodness was very very very yummy except I think I would prefer it without the layer of mochi on the outside. The two textures were a bit odd going together. Despite all this rubbish I spout, I think I've been converted to Shu Shin Bou. Goodbye all the other junk I eat and HELLOOOOO SHU SHIN BOU!
